Ketamine Infusion and Wellness Specialists is a multidisciplinary team composed of anesthesiologists,a psychiatric nurse practitioner (DNP), registered nurses (RNs), a pharmacist and a fitness & nutrition expert.
We are highly trained and uniquely skilled in the use of ketamine to safely treat depression and pain. In addition, our professional and caring staff offer vitamin and weight loss therapy as well as fitness and nutrition coaching to help clients achieve their individual goals at an affordable price.
MEET OUR TEAM
Ketamine Infusion & Wellness Specialists are all board-certified anesthesiologists and registered nurses (RNs) with focused practice at St. Mary’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center. We offer specialized backgrounds in pediatric, cardiac and regional anesthesia. We are all experts in the safe use of IV ketamine and IV vitamins.
We are highly-trained and uniquely skilled in the use of ketamine to deliver the safest and most effective care to our patients.
Our practice is focused at St. Mary’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center; the largest medical center in the 500 miles between Salt Lake City and Denver. At St. Mary’s we care for the most challenging patients in the region. We bring varied and unique skills from our specialized training in pain medicine, pediatric anesthesia, regional anesthesia and cardiothoracic anesthesia.
Ketamine Infusion and Wellness Specialists was created in response to the alarmingly high rate of depression and suicide on the Western Slope of Colorado especially as compared to the rate seen in the United States.
ABOUT KETAMINE TREATMENT
We use evidence-based protocols and intravenous (IV) ketamine.
An extensive collection of studies over decades supports delivering ketamine intravenously as the gold-standard to achieve remission of depression. Other methods of ketamine delivery are not well-studied, do not show equally effective results and carry health risks (intramuscular injections, nasal spray, oral).
Our goal is to provide an affordable service to the community that addresses this serious public health dilemma.
We understand that depression is a multifactorial condition that requires a network of support from health care providers, therapists and family members.
Ketamine therapy is safest and most effective when all aspects of the etiology of a patient’s depression are being addressed. Therefore, a patient must be referred by their primary care or mental health provider prior to therapy.
We do not provide walk-in Ketamine therapy.

Everyone at the clinic is amazing! I had Mercury Toxicity and I’m always super careful what I put in my body. I did a couple of the weight loss shots. I lost 7 lbs and actually felt less anxiety and had more energy. Definitely will do more in the future. I also had a really bad migraine and was nauseous. Dr. Pennell was patient with our questions and very thorough in her responses. She possesses an incredible ability to comfort weary mom’s and hopeless teens. The treatment was such an interesting experience for both my son and me. The IV was easy and painless for him, and once the drip started, I journaled the process of my son’s dissociative experience. Dr. Pennell would come back in the room often to check on us both, and made sure we were comfortable and safe…Six months later, my son is ready to meet almost any moment with intention and purpose. He is no longer depressed, and even struggles to remember the days when it seemed he’d never feel different or better at all.
There’s no real proper way to thank someone for saving your child’s life, but we are forever grateful. I hope this helps someone who’s wondering if it’s the miracle they’ve been praying for. It is.
Dr Pennell is, simply put, an angel on earth. She has a knack for easing any doubt or uneasiness. I have had more than a few Ketamine treatments, and each time was explained thoroughly. All of the doctors on the team made sure during each and every session they monitored me and that everything was running smoothly. Came here to have my first IV session. Dr. Pennell is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The atmosphere was great as well! I received the detox drip and I couldn’t have been more pleased!! The fact that I’m publicly sharing my story of a decades-long struggle with Depression, Anxiety and the general feeling of “hopelessness” they elicit. Most people do not understand the amount of energy it takes for a depressed person to “fake it ‘til you make it” through his or her day. But for those of you who do, and SSRIs leave you feeling both fat and just numb, then a ketamine infusion is definitely worth a try.
I trust Dr. Pennell. The groundbreaking work she’s doing, simply put, has quite literally saved my life.
My advice: Record your sessions, as well as journal your infusion experience(s). Each infusion for me was similar, yet very different, and sharing/discussing these unique discoveries has been an important part of the process. For example, Ketamine allowed me to safely go places and re-examine childhood traumas with a new “adult” perspective, and after a few sessions discussing these things with my therapist I simply feel great.
Dr Pennell is helping to saves lives. She’s kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, professional and high accessible. I drive a distance and she always fits me in on a day’s notice. The other doctors on staff have also been kind and caring.
